Building off the successful campaign to save Hanscom AFB and the Natick Soldier Systems Center in BRAC 2005, DTI is the only association providing a central voice for the defense technology sector in New England.

DTI is principally funded through annual contributions from private, non-profit and academic organizations with a vested interest in the future of the New England defense technology cluster.
